i.play hits the road!
Children in Rochdale recently had the opportunity to try i.play at a Playday event held in Broadfield Park. Playday is an annual event organised by the National Children’s Bureau and is a celebration of children's right to play. We were delighted to be invited by Rochdale Metropolition Borough Council to attend their event.
Our i.play unit proved to be an excellent success with children queueing endlessly to have a game on the unit. Georgina aged 12 from Norden said “I've had 3 goes because I want to be top scorer”. Scores from the i.play unit can be uploaded on to our website (www.iplayweb.com) and gamers can compare their scores with other players across the country.
With a constant stream of children waiting their turn, i.play was constantly in use at Rochdale with approximately 100 games played. Abbas aged 10 from Middleton said “It's brilliant. I'm going to put my score onto the league table when I get home”.
Sue Birtles from Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council commented, “This was a really exciting piece of equipment with children of all ages haivng lots of fun (and healthy fitness) from it. Thanks to Playdale for their support”.
